Healthworks incorporates Chinese medicine into its everyday healing environment. Throughout its long history, acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine have excelled at integrating the body, mind and spirit to relieve stress and anxiety, reduce pain and dysfunction and balance a wide range of disease patterns. With ongoing treatment, acupuncture has the potential for deep transformation and can assist one to achieve an optimal state of health and awareness.
Oriental Medicine as a whole emphasizes lifestyle management to correct and prevent disease before it occurs. It recognizes that health is more than just the absence of disease and aims to strengthen our capacity for health and happiness. Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Formulas are safe, effective and beneficial for a wide variety of medical conditions while also serving as a preventative tool to strengthen our physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. Chinese medicine has much to offer our community and can be used complementarily to Western medicine.
Acupuncture requires a thorough diagnostic process which allows us to plan and customize treatments that are based on your goals for treatment. The initial visit includes a health interview and treatment which requires 2 hours. Terri treats one client at a time and during the course of every session, continues to monitor your response to the treatment and adapt it accordingly. Follow-up visits are approximately 1 hour.
Terri Matson holds a Master's degree in Acupuncture from the Academy for Five Element Acupuncture. She is National Board Certified by the NCCAOM in Acupuncture and also holds a Certificate in Chinese Herbal Studies. Terri is a member of the Michigan Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine MAAOM in Lansing.
